Be the Miracle

Life is a series of consecutive highs and lows. Some get more lows than others. It isn't an exact science, but at one point I am willing to bet you begged God to move mountains for you. It is the worst kind of low there is.

Imagine this. Time speeds up, and everything is going so fast you can barely make out where you are or hear the jumbles of words that are supposed to be sentences. The air feels heavy. A back breaking heavy. Air so heavy that with every breath in, your heart sinks deeper and deeper. Everything seems to be a struggle, yet, the tears fall effortlessly. They roll down your cheeks one after the other chasing the pull of gravity all the way down. Each tear reaches the ground with tapping sounds intertwining to create an orchestra of tragedy originating from the flutter of your tired eyes. You are silent, but you have a throat so sore from holding in your screams and yells. The ground is still, but your body shakes in every last attempt to hold yourself together. Then you just fall to your knees giving into the hurt and fold your hands together in a desperate call for help. It feels like it's going to take a miracle for your world not to end in that very moment so you pray for this huge, towering mountain of yours to be moved by the very God that can move them. And almost as soon as the word "Amen" leaves your lips, you fall apart.

In case you didn't know, God doesn't move all mountains nor should he. His work lies not in the blatant miracles, but in the healing process. It is okay to fall apart. Sometimes you don't feel you are strong enough to put yourself back together. For that is a mountain God can move. You may not always see it, but you can let your friends and family help put you back together. Don't be angry of their highs when the only reason they are on a high in life is so that they can help pull you up from your low. Then they hope you will do the same for them when the roles are reversed. Be the friend that is the very miracle that keeps their world from ending. Who knows, maybe they will do the same for you one day.

We all have our lows whether that be health issues, family/friend issues, job issues, stress, or things so many other things we may never know about. Be their little miracle. It might be something as simple as a phone call, but that may just be the miracle they needed in that moment. Life is far too short for anything less than the best you that you can be.
